Dr. Cyndia Morales Muñiz is Assistant Director of Multicultural Academic & Support Services at the University of Central Florida, where she helps support multicultural and first-generation students. In addition to her work with underrepresented student populations, she serves on several university wide committees in the division of Student Development and Enrollment Services and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
Dr. Muñiz is also the Founding President of the Latino Faculty & Staff Association (LaFaSA) at UCF, raising awareness and advocating for the goals and needs of Latino faculty, staff and students. In the community, she is highly involved with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando and helps support the Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund of Metro Orlando.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Binghamton University, a Master’s degree in Sociology at St. John’s University and a Doctorate of Education at the University at Central Florida. Her efforts and accomplishments have been recognized by the Hispanic Chamber, the Puerto Rican Chamber, La Prensa Newspaper, the Orlando Business Journal, and the Women’s Executive Council of Orlando.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Boston University. I work for the UCF Student Health Services as Medical Staff Credentialing Manager, but was also Senior Accountant at our Business Office. I have been with the UCF SHS for almost six (6) years. We, my wife Marta and sons Emilio and Alvaro moved to Orlando from Puerto Rico in August 2007 and it has been a great experience. I started my working career at Deloitte & Touche (one of the “Big Eight” auditing firms) in Puerto Rico back in 1987 and have worked in Accounting and Finance at various Hospitals and in Humana Puerto Rico. I enjoy bicycling, gardening and I am a very good Do-it-Yourself all around the house.
Justin is an alumnus of the University of Central Florida, receiving his Bachelors of Science in Psychology. Justin has worked at Rollins College and Drexel University and completed his graduate work at Drexel University, where he earned a Master of Science in Higher Education: Student Development and Affairs. Justin has dedicated his work at UCF and in higher education advocating for social justice, primarily working with the LGBTQ+ communities.
Nancy is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Universidad Santo Tomás de Aquino in Colombia. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Nancy currently serves as a Senior Accountant at WUCF TV in the University of Central Florida. Nancy previously served on the board of the Association of Florida Colleges- Valencia College Chapter and years before she was a volunteer/radio producer at KUNM FM at the University of New Mexico. Nancy is very passionate about giving back to the community; she volunteers at the Eagle Creek Elementary School. Her hobbies: travel with her husband and children and play volleyball.
Nelson graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration Management from the University of Central Florida. Nelson is currently a Systems Administrator at the College of Medicine and has been with UCF since 2004. He left UCF in 2011 to pursue career growth opportunities in the private sector and returned in 2014. Nelson actively volunteers in the community serving as a coach for youth sports and providing technology support for SafeHouse of Seminole County. Nelson enjoys spending time with his wife and son and taking weekend visits to Disney World.
