A Latina’s trajectory to obtain a leadership position, often reveals a multitude of challenging realities that are difficult to navigate and overcome. Latinas today still struggle with the “second shift (primary care takers)” and the “glass ceiling (unofficially acknowledged barrier to advancement in a profession),” in addition to the “imposter syndrome (the inability to internalize their accomplishments).” Presenters will discuss their experiences leading to their respective leadership positions in academia, the non-profit and corporate sectors, and will provide recommendations on how to help develop Latina students and colleagues to perform to the best of their ability.
