Háblame
The Campus Activities Board would like to host Háblame, a spoken word open mic night embracing the Latino culture and roots while creating a fun and relatable environment for students. The event would be on September 25th at 6:30 pm and hosted in the Cape Florida Ballroom CD. I would like to partner with LASA for this event to create awareness of CAB's involvement within Hispanic Heritage Month. I would also like to invite all Latin identifying organizations to join us and submit entries of poems or short stories to present at the event. I would also like to create a trivia game for students to enjoy featuring modern and relatable analogies. The event would be about 2.5 hours. I am looking into possible restaurants that would like to come in and share some pastries and Latino treats but that is still up for discussion.
